As a manufacturer of reusable solutions, the concept of sustainability is deeply rooted in our corporate culture. We started producing the first reusable transport solutions back in 1985. Since then, we have been a driving force for reusable packaging for a sustainable circular economy.
Our reusable solutions contribute to sustainability. In contrast to disposable packaging, they can be used for many years. As a result, we reduce the consumption of raw materials and help to avoid packaging waste. But for us, this is only the first step. In a time of dwindling resources and ecological problems, sustainability is an issue that concerns us all. We are aware that our planet's resources are limited and that it is our responsibility to use them as sparingly as possible.

Our contribution to climate protection
As a family business, we take responsibility for the environment. We want to reduce our ecological footprint and actively contribute to climate protection. Together with our customers and partners, we want to drive sustainable change.
However, our continuous growth leads to increased consumption of raw materials and thus to an increase in CO2 emissions. We are aware that we cannot rely on offsetting measures to improve our carbon footprint in the long term. We are facing up to this challenge and have decided to completely reduce our CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2).

Our goal is to use by 2030 only energy from renewable sources. We already produce part of our energy with our own photovoltaic systems. By using solar energy, we are making a sustainable contribution to reducing our carbon footprint and reducing our dependence on conventional energy sources.
Reduction instead of compensation - that is the theme we follow in order to minimize our ecological footprint in the long term. The specialists in our energy team identify potential savings, implement actions to improve our energy efficiency and upgrade renewable energies.

Our reusable solutions are carefully designed and manufactured to ensure high quality and durability. They can be used for various applications, from storage and logistics to the food industry. After use, the products are taken back, cleaned and prepared for reuse.
We preserve valuable resources by using recycled materials such as our specially developed bekuplast quality compound (BQC). For the production of food containers, we only use regrind that derive from closed pools of food-safe containers.

Every year, our dedicated apprentices train new entrants in all areas of our company. Sustainability performance honored with EcoVadis silver medal
We not only make a valuable contribution to greater sustainability with our products, but also keep an eye on their manufacturing process. For this reason, we have decided to undergo a sustainability assessment by EcoVadis.
EcoVadis is considered as a reliable and leading global provider of sustainability assessments. The EcoVadis analysis takes into account a wide range of criteria from the areas of climate, environment, working conditions, human rights, ethics and the procurement of materials and raw materials. EcoVadis' assessment criteria are based on international standards. The results of our sustainability assessment by EcoVadis are documented in a scorecard. Our business partners can use this assessment to understand how sustainably we work.
The 2023 assessment result gives us a positive outlook for the future: bekuplast GmbH in Ringe is among the top 25 percent of all companies assessed and has been awarded the EcoVadis silver medal.

Circular economy - a sustainable concept
The advantages of reusable packaging are obvious. Multiple use preserves valuable resources and saves costs. Plastic containers are very durable, but even the best quality plastic container will eventually become disused. However, its use does not necessarily have to end with its life cycle: Recycling is the solution!
Old or destroyed plastic containers are separated by type, shredded, ground and reprocessed in a compounder for further processing. In terms of quality and material properties, the regranulate obtained in this way is in no way inferior to comparable virgin material.
For the production of food containers from recycled material, we only use certified material that meets the strict legal quality guidelines. The regrind used comes from closed pools of food-safe containers and can therefore be used to produce new food containers. We produce our reusable transport solutions in a resource-saving manner by using renewable energies and energy-efficient production processes. Wherever possible, we use recycled materials, such as our high-quality compound BQC, to manufacture our reusable transport solutions. Right from the development stage of our products, we focus on optimised, resource-saving use of materials without compromising product properties and quality.
Plastics consist of carbon compounds obtained from crude oil and natural gas. The basis for all carbon-containing resources are renewable raw materials.

BQC - the resource-saving alternative!
With the bekuplast Quality Compound (BQC), our environmentally friendly reusable transport packaging becomes even more sustainable. BQC is a polypropylene copolymer that consists of at least 50% post-consumer material (PCM). BQC can also contain up to 50% post industrial material (PIM).
With its technical properties, the bekuplast quality compound (BQC) is suitable for storage and transportation applications, even in fully automated processes, and is comparable to completely new plastic. It can be used for all reusable transport packaging that does not come into contact with food.

Millions of tons of food are wasted every year. One reason for this food waste is the transport packaging, as it has a decisive influence on the damage rate when transporting sensitive products such as fruit and vegetables. Studies by the Fraunhofer Institute show that significantly less packaging damage occurs when using reusable plastic transport packaging than with disposable cardboard packaging.
The sturdy plastic containers protect sensitive goods much better. They are perfectly tailored to industry-specific requirements and can also be reused for many years in reusable cycles. This conserves valuable resources. An all-round sustainable concept - not only for fresh produce logistics, but also for many other sectors.

Our philosophy is to produce reusable packaging that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. Our Euro-container series lightline and basicline made of recycled material are particularly environmentally friendly and have been awarded the recognized environmental seal "The Blue Angel".
