Grafschaft Bentheim Business Association visits bekuplast
On 7 October 2025, bekuplast GmbH opened its doors to around 30 company representatives from the Grafschaft Bentheim Business Association.
As part of the ‘Unter uns’ (Among Us) series of events, participants were given exclusive insights into the production processes and innovative strength of the internationally successful manufacturer of reusable transport packaging. Gitta Mäulen, Managing Director of the Business Association, kicked off the event with a presentation of the latest SME survey conducted by the KfW Banking Group. The results paint a challenging picture: bureaucracy, a shortage of skilled workers, rising energy and ancillary wage costs, and a weak order situation are weighing on many SMEs.
bekuplast is meeting these challenges with a clear strategy: automation and sustainability are at the heart of the company's development. As a solution provider, bekuplast develops tailor-made reusable solutions for a wide range of industries – from intralogistics, pooling and trade to automotive and agriculture to food and pharmaceuticals. The in-house development department and the company's own test laboratory underline the company's innovative strength.
During the guided tour of the plant, guests were given a direct insight into the various production areas at bekuplast. From the initial idea in the development department to precise manufacturing and finishing to strict quality assurance, it became clear that the production of tailor-made transport solutions requires not only technical expertise, but also a high degree of precision and innovative spirit.
Another aspect of the event was the company's sustainable orientation. Managing Director Jörg Deglmann presented bekuplast's holistic sustainability strategy, which is based on a three-pillar model: social, ecological and economic. ‘In 2024, we processed 40,500 tonnes of material in the group, 35 per cent of which was recycled material,’ reported Jörg Deglmann. For bekuplast, sustainability means much more than just environmental awareness. As a family-run company, it also assumes social responsibility towards its employees and society. Further details on the sustainability strategy are summarised in the company's current sustainability report.
The event at bekuplast not only offered exciting insights into the production processes of an internationally active company, but also showed how medium-sized companies are meeting current challenges with innovative strength and sustainable thinking. At the subsequent get-together with finger food, participants took the opportunity to exchange ideas and network.
